Program Description
The College of Nursing offers a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certificate if you are seeking skills in the psychiatric specialty. You will graduate from the PMHNP certificate program prepared to function as a psychiatric provider, treating people across the life span. You will receive a broad foundation in didactic/clinical preparation, nursing theory, nursing research and psychopharmacology. Upon completion, you will be eligible to sit for the PMHNP national board certification examination. To qualify, you must have a master's or doctorate as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).
