Program Description
Designed for students wanting to work in four-year colleges or writing programs, the doctoral track in Rhetoric, Composition and the Teaching of English (RCTE) trains you to conduct research in rhetoric and composition; to teach undergraduate and graduate courses; and to develop writing programs in academic settings and on the job. The curriculum serves myriad functions: orient students to issues, concepts and theories in RCTE; familiarize students with the accepted and emerging professional practices; and facilitate exploration of a variety of research areas. You will learn from nationally recognized scholars in the field, all of whom have been published in top-tier disciplinary journals.
