Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

Two course sequence:
1. Writing 101 or 101A or 107

1. Writing 109H* or Writing 305
* A grade of C or higher is required in Writing 109H to satisfy the requirement with this course.

Demonstrate fourth semester proficiency in a second language by completing one of the following:
1. Complete a Fourth Semester Language Course with a grade of C or higher.
2. Complete Arabic 401 and 1 course with a grade of C of higher from Arabic 424B, 427B or 430B.
3. Pass a language proficiency examination at the fourth semester level

Religious Studies Major Requirements

Complete at least 1 of the following Courses:

With the consultation and approval of an undergraduate advisor, three RELI courses are to be selected so that the courses build competence in a designated area of concentration. The area of concentration will be determined by students in consultation with an academic advisor, based on available courses. A culminating academic paper or project is required reflecting on the coherency of the select area including how the three courses taken interrelate and how the area of concentration relates to the academic study of religion. The culminating paper or project will be the basis for a capstone discussion during the last weeks of Senior Capstone.

Note: Although lower-division courses appear in the requirements above, the Religious Studies major requires a minimum of 18 units of upper-division (300-/400-level) coursework. Please be sure to keep this minimum required total in mind when registering for major courses and consult with your advisor if you have any questions. A maximum of 6 units of independent study (courses numbered 399/499) may apply to the Religious Studies major. At least one course must be at the 400 level.

Religious Studies Major Graduation Requirements
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
A minimum of 30 units must be completed in the major.
AND
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required in the major coursework.
AND
A minimum of 18 units in the pre-major, supporting coursework, professional core, and/or major must be taken at the University of Arizona.
AND
A minimum of 18 units of upper-division major coursework must be completed.
A minor is required for this major. Consult with your advisor to select a minor or discuss other options such as selecting a second major or degree based on departmental approval.
