Program Requirements

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
The course sequence required is determined by the Foundations Writing Evaluation (link).

Two course sequence:
1. Writing 101 or 101A or 107
2. Writing 102 or 108

One course sequence:
1. Writing 109H* or Writing 305
* A grade of C or higher is required in Writing 109H to satisfy the requirement with this course.

Three course sequence:
1. Writing 106
2. Writing 107**
3. Writing 108**
**Upon recommendation of the Writing Program students who complete Writing 106 may take:
- Writing 101 or 101A instead of Writing 107
- Writing 102 instead of Writing 108
Complete at least 1 of the following :
Complete 2 courses.

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete 1 course. Please review your major requirements or consult your advisor before enrolling in a Foundations Mathematics course.
Earn at least 2.67 credits from the following:

Credit will not be given for a course at an equivalent or lower level than prior language credit earned. Course must be taken for a grade, not as pass/fail. Third semester or higher courses used to fulfill this requirement may also be used to fulfill other requirements. A grade of C or higher is required in the course that satisfies the second language requirement.

Demonstrate second semester proficiency in a second language by completing a sequence of courses through a second semester or higher level or by passing a language proficiency examination at the second semester level or higher.

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Introduces students admitted to the university as First-Year students to General Education, reflecting on learning, and developing an ePortfolio. (1 unit)
Earn at least 1 credits from the following:

Complete 2 courses, 6 units total. Transfer students with quarter system credits may satisfy requirements with 2 courses and 5.34 units.
Earn at least 5.34 credits from the following:

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

Students should complete Sustainable Built Environments Foundational Coursework requirements before enrolling in emphasis area courses.
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:

Complete 4 units. Physics class must include a lecture and lab or have a separate lecture (3 units) and lab (1 unit).

Complete 4 units. Biology class must include a lecture and lab or have a separate lecture (3 units) and lab (1 unit).
Earn at least 4 credits from the following:

Complete 1 course.

Major Core
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete 13 courses.
Complete at least 13 of the following Courses:

Complete 3 units.
Earn at least 3 credits from the following:

Complete 6 units. SBE 480 must be completed with a passing grade in order to enroll in SBE 498 - Senior Capstone.
Earn at least 6 credits from the following:
An emphasis is required for this major. Please consult with your advisor.

Select 1 from the following emphases: Sustainable Communities Emphasis; Sustainable Landscapes Emphasis; Sustainable Buildings Emphasis; Sustainable Real Estate Development; Heritage Conservation Emphasis; or General Emphasis.

A minor is optional for this major. Consult with your advisor to select a minor or discuss other options such as selecting a second major.

Heritage Conservation Emphasis
