Doctor of Philosophy

The dual Ph.D./Dr. phil. program in Transcultural German Studies is the first program in the United States that combines the strengths of three international research universities by partnering with the University of Leipzig and the University of Cologne in Germany. Including a year abroad and culminating in both a U.S. Ph.D. and a German Dr. phil. degree, this unique program prepares students for a wide range of careers relating to transcultural literature and applied linguistics. Students are trained in pedagogy and teach a variety of levels of German studies courses during their time at the University of Arizona.
