Students who specialize in Applied Linguistics as their major take 24-27 additional units of Applied Linguistics and 6-9 units of Literature/Culture (33 units total) at the 500 level or above, including one Independent Study.

Literature and Culture Studies or Applied Linguistics may be chosen as an internal minor specialization at 12 units. External minors may be chosen from cooperating departments and programs, who determine the amount of units and required courses for their minors.
