Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
The course sequence required is determined by the Foundations Writing Evaluation (link).

Two course sequence:
1. Writing 101 or 101A or 107
2. Writing 102 or 108

One course sequence:
1. Writing 109H* or Writing 305
* A grade of C or higher is required in Writing 109H to satisfy the requirement with this course.

Three course sequence:
1. Writing 106
2. Writing 107**
3. Writing 108**
**Upon recommendation of the Writing Program students who complete Writing 106 may take:

Earn at least 2.67 credits from the following:

Credit will not be given for a course at an equivalent or lower level than prior language credit earned. Course must be taken for a grade, not as pass/fail. Third semester or higher courses used to fulfill this requirement may also be used to fulfill other requirements. Complete 2 courses, 6 units total. Transfer students with quarter system credits may satisfy requirements with 2 courses and 5.34 units.

All SBS majors require a total of 3 courses in the SBS Core Series, 1 course in each category:
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete 1 Explore SBS course.
Complete at least 1 courses in the following Course Sets:

Foundation courses should be completed before enrolling in methods and capstone courses. A maximum of 6 units of house numbered courses (#93, #94, #99, etc.) may be taken towards the major requirements.
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete SBS 200, GEOG 222, or a department-approved statistics course. Consult advisor.
Complete at least 1 of the following Courses:

Complete 3 units. No course may double dip between the Urban and Regional Development major and any minor. If ECON 200 is used in a minor, take any additional 3-unit GEOG course 200 or higher to replace the units in the major.
Earn at least 3 credits from the following:

Complete 12 units.

Complete 2 courses. Students also completing GIS minor may substitute an upper-division GEOG courses for one of the methods courses.

Note: Prerequisite for GEOG 416C-416D is GEOG 403 or 417. Prerequisite for GEOG 416E is GEOG 416A and 417. Prerequisite for GEOG 416F is GEOG 417. Prerequisite for GEOG 419 is GEOG 417. Prerequisite for GEOG 424 is GEOG 417. Prerequisite for GEOG 483 is GEOG 330. Prerequisite for GEOG 484 is GEOG 417. Prerequisite for GEOG 490 is GEOG 483. Prerequisite for GEOG 457 is SBS 200.
Complete at least 2 courses in the following Course Sets:

All Foundations and Core should be completed prior to enrollment in an internship/capstone course. Completing both an internship and a capstone course is strongly encouraged.
Earn at least 3 credits from the following:

12 additional units are required in the major to meet the 39 units required for the major. A Major Elective is any GEOG150B, or any GEOG200-level or above course. A maximum of 6 units of house numbered courses (#93, #94, #99, etc.) may be taken towards the major requirements. Students may use up to 1 PLG or RED course 300-level or higher.
Earn at least 12 credits from the following:
Urban and Regional Development Major Graduation Requirements
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
A minimum of 39 units are required in the Urban and Regional Development major.
AND
A minimum 2.0 GPA is required in the major coursework. A maximum of 48 units of major coursework may be applied to the major GPA.
AND
A minimum of 18 units in the pre-major, supporting coursework, professional core, and/or major must be taken at the University of Arizona.
AND
21 upper division units are required in the major.
A minor is required for this major. Consult with your advisor to select a minor or discuss other options such as selecting a second major or degree based on departmental approval.
