ACTR scholars must successfully complete 13 graduate level credit units coursework and one workshop on research ethics to receive the ACTR certificate of completion.

  • course: Biostatistics for Public Health (3)

  • course: Clinical & Translational Research Seminar (1)

One selective course (3):

  • course: Healthcare Data Science (3)

  • course: Health Data Management and Visualization (3)

  • course: Biostatistics for Research (3)

  • course: Mixed Research Methods: Design, Conduct and Application in Health Research (3)

  • course: Analysis Methods: Health Policy Decision Makers (3)

Completion requirement

Choose a minimum of 3 units from: 

  • course: Health Data Acquisition, Assessment and Integration (3)

  • course: Data Management and the SAS Programming Language (3)

  • course: Clinical Trials and Intervention Studies (3)

  • course: Epidemiologic Methods (3)

  • course: Advanced Epidemiology (3)

  • EPID Epidemiology Seminar (1)

  • course: Health Policy and Management Seminar (1)

  • course: Biostatistics Seminar (1)

Other elective choices may be used with approval from the Director of Graduate Studies.

Completion requirement
  • Attendance at semesterly meetings of certificate Scholars and Directors.

  • A maximum of three units earned prior to admission to the certificate program may be used to fulfill required course work. Transfer work from other institutions will not be considered.
