Students accepted into the online Graduate Certificate in Applied Nutrition must complete 12 units, comprised of 9 core units and 3 elective units.

Core Courses: 9 units

• course: Advanced Applied Nutritional Sciences (3)

• course: Advanced Clinical Nutrition (3) OR course: Nutrition & Disease (3)

Students may select electives from a variety of approved graduate-level courses. Following is a partial list of possible electives. Note: Students admitted to the program receive a more extensive list of elective course options.

• course: Weight Inclusive Approach to Counseling (3)

• course: Exploring Eating Disorders & Body Image (3)

• course: Assessment and Regulation of Human Body Composition (3)

• course: Agriculture and Food Literacy for Nutrition & Health Professionals (3)

• course: Nutrigenomics for the Study of Disease Prevention and Intervention (3)

• Other Arizona Online courses can be used for elective courses with program director’s approval.

Newly admitted students are required to attend a program orientation prior to their first term/semester of coursework.
